Underground Services Surveys

Using Cable Avoidance Tool equipment, tracing with a sonde or GPR, we can provide the client with a full picture of what is below the surface.

Drainage runs can be traced and accurately plotted by using combination of a sonde transmitter fed from the surface along the pipe runs, and a Total Station to record the position. Cover & invert levels and pipe sizes are also recorded and provided.

We are also able to trace other below ground services, e.g., cables, metal pipes etc, and can give depth information for the features detected, if required.

This equipment usually gives a good indication of buried services, particularly when combined with utility companies’ records information.

In certain cases, more specialised equipment may be required to provide a highly detailed survey. If this is the case, we shall employ one of our partner companies to undertake the survey using either Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) or CCTV surveys.

We also provide the full ‘As-Built’ drainage package, to enable your drainage to be adopted by the Local Authority.
